Fernando Tarapow is a quixote from Antarctica fighting against global warming.

He was an officer in the Argentine Navy and he is a lawyer, ambassador of the The International Association of Antarctic Tour Operators (IAATO) and professor of Public International Law and Antarctic Law. After his experience as a Polar Expedition Guide, he has become a writer and a fervent activist against global warming, especially as it affects the Antarctic continent and the Arctic.

POLAR ENVIRONMENTALIST - HIS FIGHT AGAINST GLOBAL WARMING IS JUST BEGINNING

Fernando defines himself as a polar Quixote against global warming. At the end of his first trip as an Antarctic Expedition Guide, he felt the call to fight with all his strength against global warming that affects the entire planet but especially the ecosystems of the Arctic and the Antarctic continent.
There he started his campaign against Global Warming: HELP ME TO PRESERVE ANTARCTICA- STOP GLOBAL WARMING- and the answer to this call is with the cry “COME ON COME ON COME ON COME ON COME ON”.
His connection to Antarctica, especially from his contact with penguins and whales led him to write the book. “The PROTECTOR OF THE PENGUINS. VIVENCIAS COM COMO GUIA DE EXPEDICION ANTARTICA” (DUNKEN 2023) where he talks about Antarctica, Antarctic Tourism, Antarctic penguins but fundamentally seeks to highlight these beings as true citizens of the Antarctic continent.

Observing them changed his life, his connection with them was total and he felt the “Antarctic Call”, a call to protect them, to respect them, especially their habitat, where the consequences of human activity harm the only continent that man himself consecrated it as a “Natural Reserve dedicated to science and Peace”, But at the same time the continent is harmed by the selfishness of man outside of it, reflected in the emission of greenhouse gases (fossil fuels), deforestation and the lack of care for the marine ecosystem where Fernando belongs (whaling, krill capture, pollution, etc.).

In his second book (in the process of being edited) “THE WHALE PROTECTOR: An An Antarctic Expedition Guide's Rendezvous with Destiny”, Fernando seeks to stop whaling around the world and to make it an international crime. “Whoever kills a whale, or harms its environment, is a criminal of the world. Man has no awareness of the importance of whales.” He loves whales, especially the Humpback, with which he awoke a particular relationship as an Antarctic Expedition Guide and his connection with their suffering in the places where in the first decades of the 20th century the whaling activity in the Antarctic was very important, These were the reasons to express in the book what these wonderful beings represent and that he started his second campaign “HELP ME TO PRESERVE THE WHALES- STOP KILLING WHALES always with the same answer ”COME ON COME ON COME ON and COME ON and that he was also one of the promoters of the International Animal Law course that will be taught at the University of Buenos Aires.
Fernando is a professor at the University of Buenos Aires of subjects such as Public International Law and Antarctic Law and sees teaching as a way to improve the future by making his students feel like the makers of a better world.

His passion and destiny is to create more awareness that man's condition in the world makes him responsible not only for his own well-being but also for that of every being with whom we share the planet Earth, especially in the Arctic and the Antarctic continent.
