Come On! shout
Come on, for Fernando means many things, it is a cry that calls to be better despite all the difficulties of life, that the impossible can be possible, that giving up is never an option. It is a cry of encouragement, and that accompanies him in every moment of his life, both in his campaigns and when he teaches at universities. The cry was born in his first campaign in the MS “WORLD NAVIGATOR”, continued later in the other ships he embarked in (MV “USHUAIA” and MV “OCEAN ENDEAVOUR”) and he is convinced that after mentioning his three children, his last words will be: Come on! Come on! Come on! For them and for the world.
Deception Island. Antarctica.
Whalers Bay.
It is the symbol of the slaughter of whales in Antarctica.
In 1906, the Magallanes Whaling Society (Chilean), led by Norwegian captain Andresen, established a processing plant with five whaling ships.
Later, in 1912, it was purchased and modernized by the Norwegian company Aktieselskabet Hektor.
The Hektor whaling station operated until 1931, when the whaling business was no longer profitable.
In a single year, almost 50,000 whales were killed.
At that time, Whalers Bay was known as “Red Bay” or “Stinking Bay” because of the color and stench of whale blood that tainted its waters.
Every time I enter Whalers Bay, my stomach churns, my gut twists with indignation, and the winds of Neptune’s bellows quickly draw tears from my eyes.
Whalers Bay is the symbol of the sacrifice of tens of thousands of whales. It is the symbol of senselessness, blindness, ignorance, selfishness, and human greed.
Each visit to this place renews my commitment to them.
Help me to preserve the whales.
Stop killing whales.
Come on!!
In that campaign he was on board three ships the MV “WORLD NAVIGATOR”- MV “USHUAIA” and the MV “OCEAN ENDEAVOUR”, he went with a more prepared banner and in his lectures/reading about the Antarctic Treaty System, he invited the passengers to become aware. He did not feel alone.

Planned to do it on the MV WORLD NAVIGATOR
The campaign began on his last voyage aboard the MV USHUAIA, with the support of colleagues, the ship's captain and crew. He started very humbly with a photograph of himself with just a banner, but then the tourists wanted to join his campaign and at the last Antarctic stop of that expedition, all the expedition members responded with COME ON to the cry of HELP ME TO PRESERVE ANTARCTIC. STOP GLOBAL WARMING.
That day he decided to become an Antarctic environmentalist for the rest of his life.
